TAKING A PRE ORDER ON AN ITEM THAT IS MADE TO ORDER

There has to be a way to take an order online for an Item that is made to order..... I am going to be getting into my heavy season on which we take orders on many items. There has to be a way to take a deposit other then having to switch screens to invoices. Also there has to be a way to take these pre orders on line for items that are made to order...

Would this be for in-person or Online Orders? There isn't a way for customers to submit orders online without full payment. For in-person orders, you could create an Open Ticket, instead of an Invoice,  and record a partial payment as a deposit, if that would be appropriate for what you're trying to accomplish. You'll just need to enable the Open Ticket feature on your Point of Sale or Square Dashboard first.
