System asking for Course Entry on all items, including straight-fire items

Today the system has started asking for the course to be entered for every item? Is this a bug, has anyone else experienced this? Even items marked as Straight fire ask the question!

Thanks for running those checks, @The_Sun_Inn

It's interesting that you mentioned this issue was occurring on your iPads. We experienced a disruption earlier this week that caused Square apps on some iOS devices on version 18.4 to crash upon opening. A fix has been released, but we’ve kept the message on our status page for now to ensure all Sellers have access to this information. You can visit issquareup.com for the latest updates (click on past dates in the calendar to view previous service updates). The most recent advice is to update your apps to version 6.66.1 on your Apple devices to resolve these issues.

Although the disruption didn’t specifically mention issues related to coursing features, it’s possible this may have been part of the broader impact. Either way, if you haven’t already, I’d recommend updating all apps on your iPads to the latest version (6.66.1 as of Thursday, April 3 BST).

I'm hoping this is the last you see of this issue, but if anything else comes up on your end, don’t hesitate to reach out! 🙂

Hi @The_Sun_Inn,

Thank you for reaching out and bringing this to our attention!

To help us better understand the issue, could you please share a screenshot or video of the new prompt you're seeing on your device?

This will allow us to confirm whether this is expected behaviour or something new. From my understanding, straight-fire items shouldn't trigger a prompt to be entered as a course, as the settings for those items should automatically bypass this step.

It's worthwhile double-checking to ensure your straight-fire item categories haven't undergone any recent changes.

1. Go to Settings > Devices from your online Square Dashboard.
2. Click Service settings > Courses.

When replying, you can upload a screenshot or a short video by clicking the camera icon at the top of the text box.

@Laurie_ Thanks for the reply, I have checked the settings in courses and all is as it should be, all none food is assigned to Straight Fire, the prompt comes up on every single item when coursing is enabled. Attached a pic of the prompt.IMG_5558 Small.jpeg

@Laurie_ So today one of our iPads reverted to an older looking version, following this I deleted the app and reinstalled and all looks ok at the moment. The other two iPads have also stopped showing the prompt but have done nothing to them to stop it! Very puzzling!
