Switching between shippng carriers

Does anyone know if it is possible to switch back and forth between shipping carriers? It seems UPS is our default carrier now. Ideally, we would send half of our product with USPS. I can not figure out a way to make this work. We are having a lot of issues with shipping functionality. 😞

Hi @PRIRETAIL - do you have the Square Premium functionality in Square Online? We downgraded to estimated shipping to use UPS with the USPS Priority Mail function via Paypal for the discounted rate - we just process that manually because we are only shipping a few boxes a week. Square has pre-negotiated discounts though as well - we don't use the Premium real-time function in Square Online but it sounds like you are shipping enough to make this worthwhile. Most of our online sales are deposits for classes. If you do the estimated shipping like we do - you can use other services like PayPal, Shippo, etc and choose your carrier after the fact if you want to choose after someone purchases. 

You can set up your options with real-time quotes for accuracy in pricing. Hope this helps 🙂

Yes we have real time shipping set up. In an ideal world we could assign carriers to specific items by category or even box. We have one product that is in a custom box and goes with a specific carrier. Where all other items would go via USPS.

You can add a shipping profile for a specific item instead of a full order under the add a profile in your fulfillment settings - I don't have Premium enabled anymore to test this exact scenario for you but am wondering if you can separate the item that is in the custom box / custom carrier and limit the other box options you have set up just to USPS.
