Square says modifiers will print in any order they would like... nothing can be done about it.

Hi

My employees are frustrated that when they enter in a sandwich, and select the toppings via modifiers, and despite the modifiers being in the order we need (i.e. the order we build the sandwich), when the kitchen ticket prints the items selected appear in random order.

I just called in to Square, explained the issue, and was told there is nothing that can be done about that.

Quite frankly, based on the conversation I don't trust the response so was hoping folks here could let me know if there is or is not a way for modifiers to simply print on a ticket in the same order they are in the POS?

Thanks!

Unfortunately I have that same issue. I have realized that the order that it prints is based on the order that the customer has selected (i.e when doing online ordering). It would be nice if this fixed this bug to make it so that it prints in the order that we set it up as.

What I've done was add symbols to each modifier to make it easier to spot. But I would definitely love this to be fixed!!

We had finally renamed our modifiers annoyingly using symbols and spacing to get them to show up to our servers (restaurant)in the order that any ole other restaurant POS would do, they were printing to the kitchen correctly and all of a sudden yesterday, 6/13 - the modifiers are printing in random orders that make zero sense in a restaurant kitchen thus slowing down our line and expo who unexpectedly had to spend 5 hours reading tickets with the garnish and sauce printing first then prep, sides, etc...   To have this happen out of the blue is yet another frustrating addition to Square implementing a change to the UI that convinces us there are no end users on the programming side nor are they listening to the most valuable feedback from their Beta users.   I miss when Square cared about and was proud of what they created.
