Square for Retail - Shipping Profile will not save

I do not know what I am doing incorrectly… been trying for several hours with no luck.

 

i am trying to create a SHIPPING PROFILE in Square for Retail. I fill out all the info, click ‘SAVE’ and it just sits there - with the profile name and the countries are grayed out after I hit save. There is NO error message or anything in red showing on the screen. 

1) I’ve logged out/logged back in

2) created profiles with different names

3) double checked versions of my apps

4) unable to find ‘enable new checkout experience’ which is in the instructions, but am at a loss as to what this is or where to find it?

I do not understand why the profile will not save? And to be clear, this is not Square Online - my online shipping profile is functional. I am trying to add a shipping profile that will link to my POS for square retail, so I can select shipping for in person sales and it will apply it automatically at checkout. Each time I go back to Account & Settings/Fulfillment/Shipping, all I can select is ‘Add New Profile’… the profile I created and saved is *poof*, gone!

Here is what it looks like when I tap ‘SAVE’. The Profile name and countries become grayed out and it just sits there. The profile isn’t saved. 😕

So, it seems the only type of shipping profile I can not create/save is one setup By WEIGHT. It will save if I select flat rate, for instance, and it shows up in the Square for Retail app during checkout correctly.

 

However, I want to ship orders based on WEIGHT. I have painstakingly assigned weight to all my products and set up online shipping to function this way.

 

So why would it be a selection in the dropdown AND be listed in the instructions, if you can’t save a shipping profile based on the weights of your items? This is the SOLE reason I upgraded to Square for retail - to have shipping options available at checkout in my POS for in-person sales…

I'm sorry to hear you're running into this issue. 

After doing some research on my end, it looks like it's already been flagged to our engineering team. They're working on it as we speak, and I'll make sure to let you know when I have any updates.

in the meantime, I put my shipping options in as ‘flat rate’ (ALL 12 of them LOL) and those are showing up correctly in the POS as shipping options.

Our engineers have found a fix to the issue you were having with the creation of shipping profiles based on weight. Can you try creating a new one and let me know if this is fixed on your end ?

Ok - so it does allow me to save the profile now. HOWEVER, everything I put in my cart is assigned the lowest postage rate of $2.15! LOL  No matter what products I select, from the lightest to the heaviest - everything comes up as $2.15 for the shipping rate.

 

So it must be ignoring the weights I put in through the item library (web based) in my dashboard. Darn it!
