Square Stand and ZD411 Compatibility Issues

The title of this thread has been edited by a Square Moderator from the original: Square Plus Free trial ends 8/3/25 does it not include printing labels from square stand with zebra

 

So I have the square stand with an Ipad for point if sale use. I was excited to be able to print labels directly from stand POS. I got the zebra ZD411 because it said it was compatible with the stand and POS. However, it connects via USB, and now that i have it all connected it is not working. The POS recognizes the printer and says it is ready to print. When i go to inventory to print labels i get this alert:  “your version of square stand can not be connected to your printer via USB”. Is there something i am missing or will this printer i just spent $350 on not actually work like square states.

My first thought is, have you double-checked that your Square device is up-to-date? I know sometimes that can cause issues.

 

To do so, feel free to follow these steps:

  1. Tap ≡ More > Settings > Hardware > General.
  2. Tap About Square Terminal or About Square Register or About Square Handheld.
  3. From this page, you’ll see your software version.
  4. Tap Check for Update to see if a software update is available.

If you see Software Up To Date then you are all set.
