Square Stand 2nd Generation not lighting up for CC payments

Got a Square Stand 2nd generation, updated iPad to latest version, installed Square for Retail latest version, verified the stand was connecting ("Stand" with checkmark in the app at the top), tried a test purchase and after clicking "Charge", the integrated readers don't light up to take payment.  Looking at the hardware status for the stand, "Contactless Reader (Tap)" shows "Ready" and "Chip Reader (Dip)" shows "Ready".  I have "Full Access" permissions which should allow these payments at checkout.  Contacted support and we went through a whole series of steps and then they said it must be hardware and issued a replacement.  Got the replacement up and running today and same issue.  Also, both readers DO light up when the stand connects.  They just don't light up when it's time to take payment.  Something is missing here; I don't think it's a bad stand.  Suggestions?

Solution

This has been resolved.  Wasn't hardware and wasn't permissions.  The person setting up the new business in Square hadn't accepted the CC processing terms.  Thanks for those that took a look at this.

@bburkhard3 Have you tried launching the Square POS, then inserting the tablet into the stand. I have to do that sometimes to get my readers to connect.
