To make sure I have this correct, are you looking to ship books once a book has been ordered directly from your Square site? If so, setting up a Shipping Profile may be the next best step for you. With a Shipping Profile setup, you can customize shipping options that automatically apply when a shipment order is placed.
While this may not impact the cost of shipping out the book, as that would be outside of Square's control, Shipping Profiles can be helpful for easing that process.
To do so, feel free to follow these steps:

Sign in to Square Dashboard and go to Settings > Account & Settings > Fulfillment methods > Shipment.

Click Add new profile.

Choose your profile Type from the dropdown menu:

Select Order to apply the profile to all orders available for shipping, or

Select Item to charge a custom rate or set a destination restriction for individual items.

Enter a shipping profile name. This name won't be visible to customers.

Click Add countries to select the countries where you offer shipping. Click Done.

Click Add rate. Enter the rate name that will be visible to customers at checkout and choose a rate type. Click Done.

Click Save when finished.

Once your Shipping Profile is setup, you can then use USPS, Shippo, or your preferred shipping provider to actually get those packages mailed. I know through USPS there is a shipping option of Media Mail that can be useful when shipping books, but there are specifications that would be beyond our knowledge here at Square.
