So from Square for Retail, Whether on the Register or on my iPad, i can create an invoice in the check out (so i can scan items) and do the discounts line by line, for a customer - in particular i did one for a wholesale customer so there are many different discounts and apply them
worked great because i could scan the items and then apply the discount to each item, it showed the regular price, and the discount name and amount on each line.
Sounds great right?
well that would all be fine if the person was there in person to pay and then i printed the receipt from my receipt printer, but in fact i have to ship this to the customer, so i need to send them an invoice to pay.
Ok so hit charge and then invoice and lo and beyond the system changes everything to put all the discounts at the bottom of the invoice with the amounts applied.
and all the item lines have the regular price.
Talk about a nightmare trying to check that all the discounts were correct and the poor customer has NO idea what exactly they paid for each item
so here i am printing out the invoice, marking the percentage discount and amount they get.
Wow - we are talking 78 items in this invoice and i have to go back through and manually write on this invoice what they are paying and the discounts. Then i have to scan all this manual writing on the invoice and email this to them so they understand it all
I am not sure why discounts don’t stay on the line it is applied to when putting into an invoice but this occurs in Square for Retail and also doing Invoices on the Dashboard as well as doing invoices in the retail app on my ipad.
Has anyone found a correction or work around for this?
i am not sure why I would be programmed to send everything to the bottom of the invoice as i have really found this time consuming to explain to the customer what discounts they got on what items.
Please this really needs to get fixed.
And yes i tried to do it changing the fulfillment from in store to shipping to pick up. Nothing will hold the discounts in each line like it shows,
Thanks in Advance
Sheila
