Restaurants: how much are you paying?

Im super confused on pricing. The square website says the plus plan is $49/ month but I am being told there is a difference between restaurants and the standard plus plan. What is the difference between the two? We are still getting menus, and table seating, and a bunch of other things with our plus plan so how is restaurants different?

Support just told me Restaurants is $60/months +$40 PER DEVICE! So now Im going from paying $49/mo to $180 a month if I switch to restaurants??? What is even the difference if I am already using regular plus plan at my restaurant?

Square's pricing website does not show anything about a designated restaurants plus pricing plan. Sometimes I find the square reps don't know what they are talking about. Does this guy not know what he's saying or is the pricing page hiding the true pricing?? I'm extremely worried about getting charged per device now after my trial ends.

Hi @Cskylar, thank you for your post and I would be happy to help. I am sorry to hear there was any confusion on this.

I reached out to our Restaurants team directly and they had some clarity for you. That of which is that Square for Restaurants Plus is a Legacy plan that is no longer available for Sellers to subscribe to. You will only see and be able to use Square Plus.

As things stand now, you will currently be paying $49 per location, unless you are using Kiosks or KDS. They also sent over the link that you included above as a good source of truth on this.

They also wanted to mention that the current plan you are on will save you money, because now you have access to additional bundled features such as Marketing and Loyalty!

I hope this clears this all up for you. If not, please let me know what other questions you have and I would be happy to get that answered for you.

Hi! Thanks for the response! Always glad to hear we will save money 🙂

When trying to add our website as the preferred Google order pickup site, it says we are not a “restaurant account.” I went around and around with support on this and was transferred many times and that’s when they finally told me that I would need the restaurant plus plan instead of the regular plus plan. If that’s no longer a plan, seems like there may be a bug. Any idea how to fix? I gave up after chatting with numerous support agents for over an hour, who finally gave me that info which is apparently not correct either lol.

Thanks in advance!

Happy to help!

I checked in with our Restaurants team again on this, and they were wondering where exactly you are seeing your account is not listed as such? When they take a look, they are seeing your business is listed as a Restaurant, as well as you are using Restaurant modes on your devices.

If you are seeing this in your Square Dashboard, could you please navigate to Home > Add More > Square for Restaurants. If you do not see Square for Restaurants listed, this is proof that you are already using it.

Alternatively, if you are seeing the message you mentioned about not being listed as a Restaurant on the external Google page, then you will need to reach out to Google support for assistance with categorizing your Google profile.

I hope that helps a bit more too!

Hi @Sammie_C

I am referring to the "order with google" tab in the website settings. It shows me "this feature is only available for food and drink sites. To change your business type, Contact Us."

When I contacted them, this is when I got the runaround and they ended up telling me I was not on restaurants plus plan and that's why, as that plan is the only way to get it to work. Then when asking what else was different about that plan I wasn't really getting any information, other than it costed more per device and this order with google feature would work.

Please see attached screenshot.
