We've been using a Square Online store since Covid started, and upgraded to Square for Restaurants this summer when we added food to our brewery menu. We have a 40 minute prep time. Technically, we open at noon, but that meant that anyone who placed an order that morning couldn't pick it up until 12:40p which was an issue with the lunch crowd. So I edited it to 11:30am, which means now if people place an order in the morning, they can pick up at 12:10p which is perfect. However, if they order for a future day (we have it set to a max of 7 days in the future), it pops up as available to pick-up at 11:30am. I don't understand why the 40 minute prep time isn't reset every day. We don't technically open until noon, so our kitchen can't have food ready at 11:30am. They can have food ready at 12:10, but not 11:30am. Are my only choices to 1) change our opening time back to noon meaning today's orders can't be picked up until 12:40 and future days would be noon; or 2) Eliminate the ability to order any further in advance than same day. Any other work-arounds? Ideally the prep time would be reset every day.
Hi @tinafoundation 👋
Prep and fulfillment times can be a bit tricky depending on your business model. Can you post a link to your website so we can see how it is in action right now? I think that would make it easier for others to grasp the scenarios you are presenting. Thanks in advance! 😊
