I didn't see another board or feature request for this but I'm hoping Square can add (or someone knows a workaround) for pre-order discounts for a certain day on square online. Right now, if you set up a coupon to work for a certain day, even if customers are ordering to pick up on that day the discount won't apply. It would be nice if we could set up a way for discounts set for a certain day to work if a customer's fulfillment is set for that same day. (Ex; preorder for Superbowl Sunday before Friday & get 15% off). Sorry if this has already been asked/answered.
Thanks!
I think you'll have to do a feature request. I put in a request for fixed pricing discounts for online. Both features would be a great addition for Square Online.
I still think it might be possible to use the discount feature with Square Online. For example, I created a discount that only applies to "online" purchases of $1.50 off a scoop of ice cream.
You can see here that I selected the "online" site only (in red);
Then online, the price is shown normal, however after I add it to the cart, the discount applies;
You can also set days and times, as well as a date range, of when the discount would be valid.
Will this work for you?
I think this might just work for the original poster unless they want the price to be shown before it's put into the cart. Thanks so much for your help.
Hello @pase ! I have a couple ideas and I'm just wondering if either will work for you;
Both of these options might work for you and I'm just curious if you tried them.
Hey @SVLFever unless I'm mistaken the preorder function doesn't give the option of creating a discount within it. To do a discount for online you have to enter the sale price per each item and when it's over go in and remove each item's discounted price. Definitely doable but depending on the # of items this can be very time consuming. Let me know if you see a different way to do this or if I'm incorrect.
Hey @pase, I appreciate your patience. I escalated this over to our Advanced Support Team and this is what I found out.
To set a sale price for an item, just go to Squareup.com > Items, check the box next to the item, click "Actions" at the bottom right, and select "Update online sale price." You can then set the price and schedule it for later. Here's a helpful guide for more details.
Additionally, you can schedule discounts by going to Square > Items > Discounts, where you can create a discount and set a schedule. You’ll have the option to select specific days, times, or even a date range for when the discount will be active. More information on scheduling discounts is here.
Lastly, if you're using coupons, you can set the active dates for when they can be used at checkout.
If this doesn't fully address what you're looking for, feel free to submit a feature request in our Ideate Board, and we'd be happy to review it.
Thank you @SVLFever and @JUYBoutique20 for your reply here! 🙂
