Partner/integrate with another square retailer

Is there an easy way to partner/integrate with another square retailer to sell my products? Another local business with Square wants to sell my products for a special sale. My products are custom-made snowboards. Is there an easy way for the other shop to take the sale and have the order pushed to my square account for fulfillment?

Hi @Snowshaper.  There are a couple of ways you could do this, though not exactly like I think you are envisioning.

First, if the other seller has either a spare device, you could set them up as a Team Member on your account, restrict their permissions to only basic POS functionality, and let them sell from your account.  Of course they’d have to have a payment device for that spare device as well, or use the new tap-to-pay feature.  You could even give them the ability to close a transaction to an Invoice that the customer would pay.

Secondly, if you have an Online Store, you could let the other retailer go to that store and enter an order for the customer which could be paid the usual online way.

Those are the two options that come to mind at the moment.  Maybe someone else has a better idea!  Let me know if you have any questions.

Hi Snowshaper,

I don't believe the features or functions you have in mind are available - you can always submit a "Feature Request" for future consideration.  Perhaps others here may have some suggestions going forward.

You could share a "Buy Now" link with the other retailer however, that would be a bit awkward from the customer's perspective as they would be a confused who they are actually buying from.

For now, I'm thinking your best option would be some sort of agreement behind the scenes between you and the other retailer.   Other things to consider, who (you or the other retailer) has responsibility for warranty, returns and exchanges.  From a buyer's point of view, they may not care just as long as any issues that come up are resolved.  Just some thoughts from working with other retailers.

Thank you for the responses and ideas. I definitely want the transaction to be seamless to the customer, so adding more steps for the customer is not the right way to do this. My vision is to be able to set it up almost as a dropship, but from my own business (snowboard manufacturing) to a partner business (local brick and mortar retailer) only. I am meeting with the retailer today and will discuss it with them. I may just have to do it the old fashioned way and wait for a purchase order from the retailer.

As far as warranty, I am responsible for that as I am the manufacturer and each item is a one-off production. However, the customer may be more comfortable dealing with the retail store they are loyal to. Something we will have worked out before we present the board/Skis for sale.

Thanks, again for the advice!
