I am trying to set up my new Square Register with my existing Epson TM-T88V printers. I was able to create the printer stations and tell the system which categories to send where, and the receipts print out OK. However, the order dockets are printing with some of the items not identified, eg, an order for Chocolate Ice Cream Shell with Cream, Blueberry Muffin with Cream, and Quiche Lorraine with Salad printed as: Chocolate Ice Cream Shell, Front of House; Front of House, Front of House; and Quiche Lorraine, With Salad. When I reprinted the order, everything was there.
Front of House is the Kitchen Facing Name. Is it necessary to have it?
Hi @Lynne_M ,
Welcome to the community.
I think perhaps you have misunderstood what kitchen facing names are for. They are supposed to be used to provide shorter but meaningful names to the kitchen production tickets (as apposed to the descriptive name that may appear on a receipt).
If you are going to use them then they have to make sense and identify the order to the kitchen alternatively you can turn off the kitchen facing names printing in the printer station settings and then the full name will be printed to the kitchen.
It's explained here:

Thank you for your reply, Bruce, and the welcome. You are right - I had no idea what kitchen facing names are, and I had started deleting them from all my items. I wasn't much wiser after reading the Square article, but your reply put in into perspective. Now I see it's a code that the staff understand, but it's not necessary for us. I do love the system, but it's been two steps forward, one step back.
I'll do that tonight, once we've closed. Thank you.
