To the Square Team,
I am writing to recommend the addition of a key feature to the Square Register: the ability to assign a sequential order number to each customer's receipt.
I've noticed that businesses like McDonald's use this feature to streamline their operations, especially during peak hours. An order number on the receipt helps customers easily identify their food and helps staff ensure that orders are given to the correct person.
While Square can be configured to use order tickets, having the number directly on the customer's receipt would be a significant improvement for businesses, particularly those in the quick-service industry. This feature would enhance efficiency and improve the customer experience.
Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,
A Square Customer
Hello @Johnny016 ! Welcome to the Seller Community!!
I do know that ticket names are printed on the receipts, but it isn't in a larger text size. I do agree that this would be nice to be able to customize, and I recommend heading over to the Feature Requests section of the community and submitting this request there.
For now, a good workaround is to enable Order Ticket Stubs on your printer profile. After the sale, a small ticket will print with the order number on it that you can give to your customer. It isn't a part of the receipt, but this way your customer will get a physical copy of their order number.
Hope this helps!
I like the sound of this feature, especially if it speeds up customer processing and reduces error. As mentioned below add the feature request and I will add my support to this request.
@Johnny016 Good job on the feature request! I've already added my agreement to the request.
