New feature suggestions for Purchase Orders.

I find the Purchase order very limiting in options and would like to know if you can add some new features?  Considering we are paying a premium for this option.

 

Ship to - We need to turn this off as we pick up all of our orders as we are in the country.  Potentially this could cause an error that could be very costly if the supplier ships the order.

 

Notes Section - they do not show once the order has been sent.  If we wanted to refer back to the notes the only way to do this is to send ourselves a copy of the order to our email.

 

Optional toggles in Vendor set up - I want customizable toggles.  For example, we need to add our customers detail's onto the purchase order so we know who's the order is once it arrives into the store.

Also to have the option to have a second email to CC the Purchase order to.  Here we could enter our own email address and it would send us a copy so we can view the notes.  Currently we have to manually type our entire email into the send copy section every time as it does not remember it.

Have the option to Export the order list to pdf/excel.  We could then use this list as a Run sheet for our pickups.  

Have the option to mark a Purchase order that is pending to READY, so we know to add it to our run sheet for pickup.

Have the option to have a field show on the Purchase order list with our customers name for each order.  We have no way of cross referencing the order to the customer that's placed the order with us.

While these specific Purchase Order features aren't available right now, I can see how practical these improvements would be to businesses like yours. I encourage you to visit our Ideate Board to check for existing feature requests that align with your suggestions. If you find related requests, please add your comments to those threads detailing how these features would positively impact your business. If your specific needs aren't represented, feel free to create new feature requests for each suggestion.

Various factors influence our development priorities, including Seller interest and our Product Roadmap. By sharing your support on existing feature requests or creating your own, you encourage other sellers to add their votes and comments, which helps highlight demand to our Product team.


Regarding some of the limitations you've mentioned, there are a few things you might consider implementing in the meantime to improve your experience:

If you're adding notes in the field just before clicking "Send," these notes will only appear in the email. However, if you enter notes in the Order Information section when creating the Purchase Order, you can view them later by clicking on the sent Purchase Order > ⋮ (three dots) > Details. At the top of the Purchase Order details page, you'll see:

Expected On:
Ordered By:
Notes: (Your saved notes will appear here)

When sending a purchase order, there should also be a "Send a copy to: (square account email address)" checkbox that has your email address pre-saved, eliminating the need to manually enter it each time.

Hi Katie

I would like you to follow this process on the Retail App.  It does not work the same way and there are restrictions.  I have the dashboard in the back office and I can see that this all works, but the pos at the shop counter is working with the Retail app on an Ipad to access the Inventory tab to place the Purchase orders.
