Ever since updating to the new Restaurants POS, our inventory tracking has been behaving strangely.
Before the update, each item would have a little number counting down remaining inventory. Once the inventory reached zero, it would switch to "Sold Out".
After the update, there is no more countdown badge on item buttons, and when the inventory reaches zero, there's no notification for the cashier--the count just keeps going down into negative numbers!
Is anyone else experienced this???
Hey there @Honeycombbread, thanks for flagging this over. I know that the general app always lets you sell past zero into negatives. I do know we have sellers who do utilize this feature, so I'm wondering if they have updated the restaurant app to be similar to the point of sale app. I am inquiring with our team and will let you know!
Before the redesign, the button would automatically appear with a "sold out" badge once it reaches zero. If you try to add a sold out item to a check, there would be a popup asking "sold out. add anyway?".
Now, however it just keeps on truckin' down to negative numbers with no popup notification or sold out badge 😞
Hey there @Honeycombbread, our team is asking for you to reach out, so we can look into this further and file. Please contact support when you have a moment.
Thanks Maya, I was able to call an operator and emailed them a video of the issue—I haven’t heard back but hopefully it’s been received.
There is one topic that the operator wasn’t able to give me clarity on, however: the current stock count used to be displayed as a little number badge on the POS item button. Was it intentionally removed in the new redesign?
In the old design, we could tell our remaining stock at a glance on the POS menu screen. Now we have to open the “edit item” menu and scroll down to the stock section in order to see the remaining count—which is definitely not viable during a busy service.
Was that change intentional, or should we still be seeing the little number tick down with each sale and then switch to “sold out” when it reaches zero.
No one has given me a clear answer on this!
