Square does create barcodes for inventory items, and you can print them off however you like. I recommend a thermal printer with stickers.
As for the scanning, if you utilize Square Retail in the Square app, in the top right corner will be a button that looks like a barcode. That allows you to use your phone's camera to scan one. There will be an outlined box that you will need to get the barcode within for it to scan as well.
