Min/Max quantities

Hi Square team and fellow users,

I wanted to raise a long-standing issue that’s surprisingly still unresolved—there is still no ability to set minimum and maximum stock quantities in Square Inventory. This was first flagged back in 2019 (possibly earlier), and it’s now 2025 with no native solution in place.

As many of us know, having Min/Max stock levels is an essential inventory management feature. It’s not a luxury—it’s a basic function that makes reordering easier and more accurate.

Without it, we have to:

• Manually check what’s low every time we reorder

• Track thresholds on spreadsheets or other systems

• Risk running out of stock or over-ordering

This seems like such a simple and valuable feature to implement. It would streamline the reordering process and allow the system to flag what needs restocking automatically—saving time, reducing errors, and improving supply chain planning.

If Square is aiming to be a full-service POS with real inventory control, this is a must-have.

Is this on the roadmap? If not—why not? And what can we as users do to elevate its priority?

While this functionality is not yet available natively within Square Inventory, it is a recognized need, and our product team continues to evaluate how best to incorporate more advanced inventory features into the platform.
