(Known Issue): Modifiers automatically selected

The title of this thread has been edited by a Square Moderator from the original: "Has anyone else had issues with default modifiers being automatically added to dinner orders?"

 

Last Thursday without any issues in the last two years, when my staff went to put in dinner orders, modifiers were automatically selected and added to the check.  Normally it would ask for steak temperature and potato choice and then after selecting those it would add to the check.  Now they have to uncheck "Rare" and it says "No Rare" and they choose the correct temperature and it prints both things for the cook.  The same is happening with Potato.  I have not updated any settings and cannot find anywhere how to turn this feature off.

Any help would be appreciated.

I've confirmed with our engineers that this is a known-issue. There is a fix to address this in the software update for version 6.70, which is scheduled to start rolling out on 5/21 and is planned to be available to all users by 5/28.

If you haven't already, please check to see if the update is available for your device.


If you do not receive the update by 5/28, please let me know, and I can reach out to our engineers again 🙂
