Is there a way to show new stories (blog posts) in a section on the home page?

Have a new stories page and looking for a way to show new stories summary (box with title, not the whole thing) in a section on the home page. I don't want to make the stories overview the home page, just add a section to my existing home to alert visitors to new posts. For example, can I make "stories" a catalog and then feature that? Thanks!

I'd like an answer to this question too.  There's not a story section that can be added, wondering if there's a backdoor method (code) available to include them?

I too would like to add the stories section to my home page. A section that displays similar to the RSS feeds section except it links to your Stories.  This would help with keeping the homepage updated frequently which could help with SEO.
