Is there a way to remove "Price Adjust" button on square retail check out?

Hi everyone

Just needing an answer that if you are able to remove "Price Adjust" button on square retail check out, as this discount is not tracked anywhere, unlike other discount, comp, or void.

I'm not sure of the answer to this one myself, so I'm going to consult with the Square for Retail team on this one to get the best answer for you. I'll reach back out to you here once I gather more info!

Hi Daniel, the only workaround I see for now is Permission setting. On your dashboard go to “Staff-> Team-> Permissions” and hypothetical word “Cashier” click on it, look for “Checkout” (by default you should be on it). Once there it should be 1st option “Basic Sales Operation, from there a drop down says “Take Payments”, uncheck the option says “Manually enter custom amounts”. This might help. Again I am not an expert here but love to help and find out if that actually works. I would appreciate if you respond back here if it does or does not work.

Hey @_Violet Thanks for passing on the issue to the square team.

Hello @dipesh , I've tried the uncheck the option “Manually enter custom amounts”.

This option is for entering custom amount alone into the check out, without having to ring up any itmes.

It does not affect the ability to apply price adjustment once an item has been rang up. I've attached a screen shot of the price adjustment button.

The other buttons "Discounts" "Comp Item", will show up in the report section under "payment"

But the price adjustment is not tracked anywhere as far as I've looked.

I'm also curious if you can turn this off? Did this get sorted out?
