I have an Item which has 120 variations. Some of the variations are of the same type, and I was wondering if I can group those variations? Ex. soaps, candles, etc. Otherwise, I have a long list of 120 products that I have to scroll through to find. They are homemade products and don't have UPCs.
I'm using Square for Retail on the POS register.
Does anyone have suggestions? Thank you.
@Sapphire904 I can see the usefulness of having a variation group.
Out of curiosity, why not break out the product, so a soaps item has 30 variations, candles 30, and so forth? Is the current structure better for reporting?
That makes sense, but I'm using each Item as a "Vendor" and each variation as one of their products. I need to keep all the variations under each Item for reporting and payout.
I see. I know a lot of sellers who use items as vendors for that reason.
I think Square has created the Vendor Sales report under Reports -> Sales -> Vendor Sales, because they saw that demand.
Hopefully others can chime in with their use cases and a variation grouping feature can be pushed forward.
