Is there a way to add modifiers to a category - such as Food vs. Beverage?

I was to assign categories to each modifier set so that the food and  beverage modifiers report correctly when running sales reports? Can anyone assist? Is this possible?

While you can't add modifiers by category, you can apply a modifier set to as many items as you'd like. If you'd like, you can name the modifier "food and beverage" before applying it to the item.
