If I end a recurring invoice series does that stop future payments?

Yes @RescInv. If you end a recurring series, it will stop the series in general and not send future invoices. 

It’s important to note that if you cancel an invoice series, no confirmation email will be sent for future invoices, so you'll have to notify the customer.
