I'd like to markdown the third item purchased. For example, 1 bracelet is 14.99 but if they buy three, it's $39.99. I'd like the third one to ring up as $10.01.
Hi there, @Redfishbluefish,
Thanks for reaching out! Great question, we understand you’d like to set up a discount where if a customer buys three bracelets, the total is $39.99, effectively marking down the third item to $10.01. While Square doesn’t currently support automatic "third item discounted" pricing directly, there are a couple of ways you can achieve this!
One option is to use an automatic discount based on quantity. You can set up a cart-level discount that applies when a customer purchases a specific quantity:
Go to your Square Dashboard > Items > Discounts
Create a Buy X, Get Y discount or set a fixed amount off when 3 items are added.
Apply the discount automatically when the condition is met.
Another approach is to create a separate item called “Bracelet Bundle (3 for $39.99)”:
Set the price to $39.99
Set inventory to decrease by 3 individual bracelets when one bundle is sold (using modifiers or inventory tracking)
This gives you full control over pricing and makes it easy to advertise the bundle. Let us know if you'd like step-by-step help setting this up, we're happy to walk you through it!
