I've got a sandwich shop in a seasonal tourist town. During summer, wait times for online orders can be up over 60 minutes. My problem is that the pickup time does not factor in the number of items ordered...so a bagel with cream cheese has the same wait time as 10 sandwiches. Is there a way to code/change this? Thanks in advance!
Same! We have the default prep time set to 30 minutes in order to mitigate the issue of large orders coming through at relatively the same time. This isnโt ideal but necessary. It would be nice to see the system have the ability to give a more realistic expectation based on order size.
For example, an order that only includes 2-3 items may be available for pickup in 10-15 minutes versus an order that includes 10, 15 or even 20 items that would clearly, take much longer, 30-45 minutes perhaps. The ability to assign a per item prep time might be one idea.
Ideally, itโd be nice if the system also had the capability to know how many orders exist in the queue already and assign a realistic expectation based the number of orders and size of orders, already in queue.
I know from experience that this is achievable. Back in the early 2000โs we used an online ordering system that worked exactly as I described and the orders would arrive via fax, remember fax machines? ๐
