Has there been a recent update that might affect barcodes?

Hi All.

 

We have been using the square register, barcode scanner and printer for some time now without to many issues.

 

We noticed maybe a week or so ago that the register was displaying differently and was asking us to log in and then choose retail or POS. 

 

Since this change/update? , we can see all of the products are still there and can be accessed by searching for them each time a customer wishes to purchase, but the register no longer accepts the barcodes being scanned. 

We can see the barcodes are listed on the item details both on the register and within the strip web page access. They simply are not recognised by the barcode scanner. If we go to the item and re-scan the barcode, it will then accept that newly scanned barcode without any issues. The barcode it does not recognise and the newly scanned barcodes when compared are exactly the same.

 

Are we missing something, why does a rescan of the exact same barcode allow it to them recognise it? DO not really wish to go through re-scanning 2k+ items.

 

Any help or tips would be great

Just worked it out. Appears that the register had been changed to Square for POS. After logging out and back in again we were given the option to choose POS or Retail. Choosing retail has fixed the problem.
