Has Anyone noticed a Lag when Searching for an Item or Category?

On Jan 1st 2024, we were closed, so I figured I would use this time to try to organize my Catalog and Ipad Screens for Categories and Items to find them quickly and get the correct reporting as Square now has the ability for Parent categories.  When trying to type in a category name on both the Ipad or a PC in the Square Items Dashboard, I would type 2 letters then the 3rd letter would appear as the first.   Having me stop and delete and try again.  The I noticed I typed in "Pi"  waited and the "l".... and again it went to the first letter being "l".     Then I noticed when I type in to search for Categories in either this was the case, I have been seeing this on the Ipad but since I do not usually use an Ipad thought maybe it was the Ipad ..... Now I think it is an issue with Square accepting the typed data in the Fields for Items and Categories since this was also happening on a PC computer.  

 

Is anyone else notincing this when trying to search for an Item in their Checkout or Items fields on an Ipad or Computer?   This was fustrating as it took a lot longer to search and find these items and categories.

That lag issue seems to be fixed, but last night after setting up my categories I editted my screen on my Ipad, which before use to update the Favorites and shortcut icons for both Square Stands.  When I came in this morning the 2 stands here did not change.  So I checked my Ipad that I set everything up on and it also is back to before I made any changes.

I'm glad to hear you're no longer encountering the lagging issue when searching for items in your app. I'd be happy to take a closer look at this new issue you're seeing regarding your Favorites List.

Firstly, can I confirm that you're still logged into the same location on all devices? I'd like to also confirm you followed the below steps when making these changes on your device.

1. From the navigation bar, tap More.
2. Tap Settings > Favorites > Edit Square for Retail Grid.
3. Tap Add to page or the + to include additional items, or select the minus symbol > Delete to remove an item from the list. You can also press and hold the three grey horizontal lines to rearrange the item list.
4. Once you’re all set, select the X to return to the Checkout tab.

The Lag in typing has appeared again on a Computer in the Square Dashboard.  When I try to type Pillar to search for the category (Child Category?) I get "Pi" then that disappears and then "ll".   You can see what I am referring to in the attached video.  I am using a windows PC that is wired to my home network using a cable modem at over 500MB /sec..... so lag is not an issue or would explain why 'Pi' disappears.
