Gift Cards

Hey!

So i am able to create a gift card, with a balance, which is able to send to the customer and provide a code. However I cannot seem to find where you can redeem this at checkout, the only options that i can seem to find is other gift card, but this doesn't take anything off the balance.

Any ideas?

Hey @boujis - it may be that you need to turn on ‘gift cards’ as a payment method in the settings. 

I’m not near an iPad now to do a screen shot, but if you go to the settings, then checkout I think the option is there (trying to remember the restaurant setting screen as not used it over the winter….). 

Tag me if you can’t see it & I’ll make sure I get a screen shot for you 👍

@Sam_400º Are you looking in the Square for restaurants app or Square app? On the square for restaurants app I can’t find any settings on the actual app 🙂

@boujis - you’re totally right. As it wasn’t showing assumed there must be a setting in there. 

have just checked & this is the screen you should have at payment: 

If yours is different can you post a screenshot? 

I’ve checked the settings on the online dash & there’s not anything I can see there for payment types.

When it comes to the Checkout, we don't see the gift card like you do! I have tried to attach a photo, but it won't let me. 

Any ideas?

Honestly, no idea @boujis sorry! 

Generally a good trouble shooting step is to uninstall & reinstall the app, just to make sure everything’s as it should be. Beyond that it’s worth getting in touch with support to raise a ticket - as could be something specific to your account & on the community there obviously can’t be any personal account discussions (we can’t see your account etc,)

Just double checked in Team Permissions too & can’t see anything there for gift cards, so looks like it’s the app…
