What exactly does the statement "We are no longer supporting the creation of gift card items. You can still use and edit your existing items, but we recommend setting presets in your gift cards dashboard on web." mean under the gift card item section of the dashboard?

there is a permanent item called gift cards now that you set up here. https://squareup.com/dashboard/gift-cards/settings

you used to have to create gift card items and assign them values.
