Gift Card - Buy $100 get $20 gift card, not discount but another gift card

My previous gift card vendor would give us the option where if the customer buys a gift card during certain period, they will get another gift card of X percentage.

Example: If a customer buys $100 gift card, they will get a $100 gift card but also $20 gift card on us so they can use it for other purchases instead of giving discount it makes the customer to spend that $20 at the restaurant.

How can I achieve that at square?

I can only think of two options right now - the first may have to be manual - Customer purchases $100 Gift Card and you give him a second Card for $20 - Customer now has two cards.

Second option, go with the discount - if your customer purchases a $100 gift card and you’d like to discount the total sale by $20, apply a $20 discount. Your customer will receive a $100 gift card and will have paid $80.  Although you mentioned not going for the discount, it can be setup and applied through your Square Account. 

Bottom line, you're trying to encourage the customer to spend more money in your business which is great.  Perhaps some of the other volunteers have some thoughts as there are a few very creative people here.

Hey there! We did this every year around Black Friday! 

I would do buy $80 gift card get $100 loaded on it. The way that I did this was to activate the card with $100 then create and give a $20 "Black Friday" Discount on the total. We did this in several different increments. While it is not an automatic discount and does require a little thought... it can be done!
