I have set the default fulfillment method on our square site to be "pickup". 99% of our customers pick up their orders, but we also allow items to be shipped. However, when I add an item to my cart, the site still defaults to shipping when an item is marked with a shipping and pickup option. This results in people accidentally paying to ship when they are picking up, and us having to refund the order and ask the customer to re-order with the pickup option. I was told by our Square rep to use the other page template for our shop, but it does not look as nice with our products, and it doesn't seem like functionality like this should be tied to a design template. Any other suggestions on how to get this to work as expected?
Hi @tenbendsbeer,
Thanks for posting and happy to look into this for you.
In order to make sure i'm understanding, what website builder did you use to create your site (Wix, Weebly, GoDaddy, WooCommerce etc.)? Also, can you provide the URL to your website/page? Thank you!
Please let me know by replying in this thread. I'll keep an eye out for your response.
We are using square sites that runs on Weebly. URL is https://www.tenbendsbeer.com/
The default fulfillment option only works with the Order Online template. With Shop All, it’s always going to default to shipping. You can switch the template by clicking the dropdown in the top left corner, then the three dots next to your Shop All page. You will see an option to Switch Template.
The other option is to add a note to your site or the item description page so that users are aware there is an option to change the fulfillment method on the checkout slider.
