Floor plan as Home Screen

Hi! I’m used to restaurants POS where you select a table or seat from a floor plan and then add the items. We set up Square for restaurants last night and can only select a menu item and then assign it to a list of seats (not select from a floor plan). Am I missing something? Thank you!

Have you set up your floor plan under Device Management yet?  Once that's set up there should be a floor plan tab on the bottom of your POS screen.

Thanks for the reply! Yes, we have. But can you make the floor plan the main page that comes up and then add items to each table or chair?

Not sure about making the floor plan the default screen. I agree it’s way easier to enter a tables order through floor plan. Ours  defaults to the menu but everyone clicks to floor plan. You can add seats to the tables by turning on “seating” under the check out tab in settings on your pos. We just use it to count covers, but the other options add items to seats.

Thanks! How do you click to the floor plan?

Do you have those options on the bottom of your screen?

I don’t. I wonder if I have to be on a different plan… Do you mind if I ask which plan you have? Thanks so much!

@Melissa25 @Cabley Not sure if you two are still active on here, but I have a solution to your issue!! As a full service restaurant, the floor plans page is the one most would want to default to. I spent literally HOURS on chat with support and talked to probably 15+ agents - nobody could figure it out. I was just reading through some threads on here and someone was asking how to turn it OFF.... I was like how do they even have it on!?

A support person responded telling them to turn off "Open Tickets" as it will default to the floor plans page if you have a floor plan setup, or it will default to open tickets page if not. This was the answer I've spent hours looking for!! All I had to do was turn on the "use Open Tickets as the Home Screen" setting.

Nowhere on there does it say it would use floor plans if we have a floor plan setup so I assumed it would just take us to the tickets instead of the menu.... wish this was notated under the setting and that the rest of the support team knew this. I would have saved a lot of time. I realize this thread is pretty old, but hopefully you see my comment and it helps you!
