Early Beta Test | Settings Redesign on Square for Retail

Hi Beta Community sellers and testers!

We’re recruiting for a new Beta - Settings Redesign on Square for Retail! This test will give you early access to the ability to manage device settings in the Square for Retail app on devices themselves.

Benefits:

• Adjust settings in the Retail app as needed, instead of logging into the Dashboard
• Configure offline mode, tax, signature and tipping
• Change cash management and passcode settings

We'd love to get a few interested sellers enabled to do some early testing and help us see how it lines up with your needs.

Hey Andy! We'd be willing to help test and poke around, but in full transparency we don't change those device settings often. So it wont be a huge impact to us personally. The only thing we do change is to toggle taxes for a different city if we're at an offsite event. Again, willing to help test, just don't know how in depth the feedback would be!

We would be interested in this beta! We're frequently frustrated with the lack of settings available via the Retail app.

Great to hear! Are you using Square for Retail on an iPad?

Ah, unfortunately we use it primarily on the Register. We do use it on the iPad sometimes, but usually just once a month or so.

Just an update! We found an issue that will push this beta back by a few weeks. Since we know you'll all be busy over the holidays, we've decided to launch it in early January. We will update you here once we're ready to go!

Bumping this thread for @JessRog - the Settings Redesign on Square for Retail is coming up for beta in just a few weeks!

@keicollective @prologuebooksho @SDA-POS @bbsd is this still a beta you'd like to participate in?  We'd love your perspective on the initial setup and get a better idea on how this works or could work better for your needs.
