Does anyone have experience switching from Square for Retail to Square for Restaurants?

Hello! 

We are an entertainment business with lots of food and drink options that has been using Square for Retail, but have decided to switch to Square for Restaurants Plus in order to use the KDS system.

Does anyone have experience switching from Retail to Restaurant that could provide insight on how to go about it? I had Square for Restaurants use our items to create a menu, but now everything in Square for Retail is messed up, which is what we're currently using and need to function properly. I can't seem to figure out which items are active in Retail and which are active in Restaurants because it's all jumbled up. 

We'd appreciate any tips!

I use both Square for Retail and Square for Restaurants in my business, and I started using Square for Retail first for about a year before adding Square for Restaurants about 4 months ago.

I'm not certain what your exact issue is, so maybe some more information would be helpful for me.   I do know that out item directory is filled with about 200 retail items, and about 800 different bar and restaurant items (which includes variations), and we are getting along just fine.

Let me ask some questions;

• Where is your issue exatly?  In the menu?  In the category selection?  Online?
• Have you set the KDS to only display the items from the correct categories?
• What other information about your problem can you share?

Maybe with a little more detail I can help sort out your issue.   I'll be fairly busy the next couple of days but will respond when I can.
