De-select Pre-Selected modifier= no______

Does anyone know if when you De-select a Pre-selected modifier on an item, how does it communicate the De-selected item to the kitchen? Does that item just not appear on ticket and the other pre-selected mods do? Or does it say "No BLANK" (pre-selected Item)

If no modifier is pre-selected, the kitchen see's nothing.  I opted to add "NO" ___ to reduce the questions from the kitchen.
