Completing orders on my KDS

When I click an order on my KDS it automatically completes it 

is there a way I can click it and view it without it completing immediately

Hey there @Mirandanap1.  So, I’m a little confused.  When an order is displayed on Square KDS you can view it completely there without clicking on anything.  All items are displayed and all modifiers are displayed.  So I’m not sure what more you expect to view by “clicking on an order.”

 

Secondly, there are two forms of clearing on KDS.  The first happens when we click the top bar of an order which WILL complete the transaction and remove it from KDS.  The second happens when we click on any individual item, which will complete that item, but only complete the transaction after all items are completed.

 

Anyway, can you clarify what you are trying to view that is more than what KDS already shows?  A screen shot might help a lot.

@Mirandanap1 Unless I’m sadly mistaken, the prioritization functionality is NOT limited to one ticket.  The Expo KDS can prioritize any tickets which will mark them as “Make Now” and move them to the front of the queue.  I’m not at my shop right now to confirm this, but the help documents say that we can prioritize orders (plural) and do not mention any limitations.

Ok great thank you for clarifying 

 

also is there a way to change the order of the tickets on my KDS, the only option I see is prioritizing one ticket to front of the line 

 

we are a busy pizza shop so we switch tickets around based on how fast we can get something out not necessarily when ticket comes in

Hello!

 

I wonder if I am asking for the same thing below. It's a strikethrough function on the tickets. 

 

Is there a feature on Square KDS to strike through individual items on a ticket? At our coffeeshop we are using Fresh KDS because our baristas can strikethrough individual items so other baristas know this drink/food has been started. On Square KDS when you items it clears the entire ticket and we like to do that once the order has been completed in full. Or if you tap the top bar it goes away completely. 

 

We'd love to move to Square for KDS as we use it for everything else, except KDS. Thanks!

@erinnthomas While Square KDS doesn't use strikethrough, it has a similar approach.

 

First, make sure you KDS Completion Settings (View all settings > Tickets) is set to "Complete for all devices."

 

Then, if an item is marked complete on a non-Expo KDS, it will either 1) be grayed out on all non-expo KDS or 2) have a gray dot next to the right of the name on the Expo KDS.

 

If an item is marked as complete on an expo-KDS, it will be grayed out on all other KDS.
