Check Owner change after card processing

Can someone help me find a solution? 

 

When a server has a table that accidentally was started under the wrong server number (the previous server didn't sign off the ipad and the next server just walks up and starts a table without looking) And the ticket gets charged with a credit card. How can the owner of the check be changed after the fact. They notice when adjusting the tip that the tip is under the other server. 

 

You can try reopening the check to change it but you have to remove payment to continue, so that doesn't work. 

 

Am I missing something?

@DSander in your case, I would just turn on the passcode to have to be entered after every transaction to stop it from ever occurring.  Otherwise, I have not seen a way to edit without refunding restarting over.

@blair3 Device management is your friend.  Once you have the device code entered, you would go to the POS app bottom right and tap More --> Settings ---> Security and then you have option to require passcode, and then the require it to back out of a sale, after every sale, etc.  I have mine set to 5 min logout, for security and to require it to back out of a sale.  But for you, requiring it after every sale would fix it.

As @Donnie-Mstates, unfortunately there is not a way to change the owner after the transaction has processed, unless you refund the sale and start over the process over. You may be well aware, but while the ticket is still open you are able to reassign the check through the Square for Restaurants app by following these steps:

  1. Open your Square for Restaurants app and tap Checks or Floor plan.

  2. Tap the relevant check.

  3. Tap Actions > Assign.

  4. Select a team member to receive the reassigned check and tap Assign.

@Donnie-M suggestion of adding a passcode is a great workaround though!
