Category Sales for Parent Category

Hello, 

I'm trying to get category sales for the entire parent category, so all the nested categories included and the category itself. How can this be done?

Currently they're all separate and need to be manually added together, which ruins the entire point.

I think what you want are Category Rollups

I believe that would help, however, I don't have that open. 

"From the toolbar, click View Categories > Manage Category Rollups > Create Category Rollup."

I don't have a view categories section on my toolbar on my category sales page.

Looking at the docs more it looks like you need at least a Square Plus or Premium subscription for this

I have Square Plus.

To be more specific it says

"Square Plus and Square Premium subscribers with advanced restaurants capabilities added. Add capabilities in Square Dashboard."

So you would need to add advanced restaurant capabilities. I have no idea why it would be gated behind that. I think most Square sellers would be benefit from seeing sales reports from multiple categories or child categories.

Well, that's incredibly frustrating and actively makes Square harder to justify.

@GreatEscape This is a feature I have requested quite a few times. We need it because we have: 

Jewelry: 

- Necklace

- Bracelet

- Rings

- Earrings

- Malas

I want to know the total (without having to do it manually in Excel). I think that's the whole point of Parent and Child Categories... 

Category Rollup is not the correct solution for us. We use Category Rollups to analyze:  Retail, Services, Events

I agree- seems like a very simple ask- not sure why the retail side doesn't seem to get a lot of love- feeling like it's all about restaurants more and more.

Yeah, it's been looking like I'm moving off square sooner and sooner. A lot of basic features aren't available, are locked behind silly distinction between retail and restaurant, or are poorly done. Square is just not a good option anymore.
