Can I create Item Bundles or Combos?

I am looking for a way for a customer to be able to select 4 candles I have dubbed Tiny Tots as a gift pack. The candles are under a variation of different scents however within the gift boxes the capacity limit is for 4 candles and no more. 

Is there a way to do this?

Great question!

The Combos feature is perfect for creating gift packs where customers can select exactly 4 candles from your different scents.

Here's how to set it up:

To create your 4-candle gift pack:

1. Navigate to Items in your Square Dashboard
2. Click Create Item and select Combo
3. Name it "Tiny Tots Gift Pack" (or your preferred name)
4. Add your candle variations as components
5. Here's the key part: Set both the minimum AND maximum quantity to 4 - this ensures customers select exactly 4 candles, no more, no less
6. Set your gift pack pricing (you can offer a bundle discount if you'd like!)

The combo will automatically enforce the 4-candle limit at checkout, so customers won't be able to proceed without selecting exactly 4 scents. You can even add a description explaining the gift pack concept to make it crystal clear for your customers.

Yes, Combos is one of our most recent features, and it is currently available only in the Create Item menu.  Let me know if this helps!

Hi, I do not have the option for combos. I have prepared food and beverages, physical good, event, digital and other. 

Is this a country specific update? As I am in Australia

I sell numerous scented body butters and two variations of scented body scrubs, and would like to create combos for my various products.  I want customers to be able to select between the products and their preferred scents.  Based on what I read, the bundle option does not work because I have to preselect bundles for customers.  I've read here and on various websites that the combo is the best option to allow customers to select what they want from the available products.  I just spoke with someone at customer service and was advised that Square no longer offers the combo item.  Can you please confirm if this is the case?

Hi @SandRSkin Can I ask what type of square you are using.  Just the normal square or square for retail.  I use Square and Square for restaurants and I am in australia and I have combos set up.  Do you have the ability to create a combo by going to the dashboard on a PC or Laptop, clicking Items & Services , then item library.  When you're in the item library click on Create item in the rop right of the screen.  You should be able to choose Combo from this list.  If you can't then I would check back with the help desk.  Again it could be part of the version you are using that you can't see it.

I also don't have the Combo and Bundles option showing and also in Australia. Has anyone found a solution to this yet?

I can make bundles, but the customer cannot select the specific items they want from a category. I sell various scented body scrubs and body butters, so limiting the scent for customers is not cool.

If you go into Item library on the dashboard can you create a combo? From the dashboard go to Items & Services, Items, Item Library then top right hand corner select Create item Combo should show as an option there.

Hi @ForestGarden I'm also in Australia and I have combo and Bundles.  If you go to the Dashboard on a computer or laptop then select Items & Services, Items, Item Libarary, click the button on the top right Create Item and you choud be able to create a combo from there.

Unfortunately, the Combos option isn't showing up there, only prepared food and beverages, Physical good, Event, Donation, Digital and Other. I'll try to include a screen shot

Hello @Eddiemunster and @ForestGarden, I can create bundles, but they're too restrictive for my needs. I do not have the combo option on the app my phone or my laptop. I can't upload the screenprint, but the combo option is not there.  I have the Square Plus plan, so I wonder if it's based on your plan or grandfathered in.

Hi @SandRSkin are you able to go into item library on your dashboard on your laptop and then choose to Create an item (Top right corner) and take a screen shot of this for us.  to Take a screen shot you should be able to click Windows button + Shift + S and ue your mouse to drag a window around the create an item box.  Depending on how your square account is set up you may see Physical Items, Food and Beverage and Combos plus others listed.  If you can upload the screen shot I will see if we can help you.

I have Square Professional. I also wondered if it's to do with the plan. Where did you find bundles? I would prefer combos too but anything at this point would help but I can't find bundles either (I also can't upload a screenshot) Thanks!

My apologies for missing your question about bundles. The bundle option is on the create an item page when you're adding the information for the new item. It's halfway down the page.
