Bundled Items

I don't think I saw this in the Feature Request Section yet and I know a lot of people want it.

I need to bundle items for multiple reasons. I'll give you two examples:

Gift Baskets. I want to make a Father's Day basket that contains multiple items, charge one price, but take each item out of inventory.

We are a retail store, but also serve drinks. I want to make drink specials that contain 2 units of a spirit and 1 unit of a mixer for a set price.

I second this DRAMATICALLY!  There are so many Items we sell that need this feature, but here's an example:

We sell bearings individually and also in sets; all of different sets different quantities and combinations of styles of bearing.  There is no way to draw from common inventory when selling the bearings as sets.

The workaround we've been using is to create those sets at the outset, but it fails us frequently when we run out of a specific set of bearings but we have all of the component bearings still on hand either as individuals or distributed across other sets.  This 'workaround' increases time and effort spent purchasing, managing stock, and fulfilling orders.  We frequently lose sales due to this and it has also incited errors in order processing.

At this moment this is not something our Retail Product Team is working on implementing into the application. If other merchants are seeing this thread please comment and provide insight into how this feature would impact your business.

If shopventory didn’t offer this feature I wouldn’t be using square.  It’s essential to may business but it’s ultimately a workaround as I use bundling to create case/box prices.  Say a widget comes in boxes of 10 from my supplier. I need to create a bundle of 10 widgets and name it accordingly.to sell it at a discounted box price. It also needs to deduct 10 widget from my inventory. I can’t imagine this is uncommon in retail stores.  I also use bundles as a workaround for square’s lack of price categories. A bundle of 1 widget at a discounted price deducts 1 widget from Inventory. Memorizing 1000s of prices and adjusting prices isn’t realistic.

This would be huge for my business.  We sell items that we finish and may use 1 thing in several items.  Right now I have to manually adjust stocks from our blank count to whatever item we are making.

This would be great for our business. We need this function and manually adjusting stock levels is cumbersome and not realistic to maintain. This would be used for promo products and help customers to get the basic items they need bundled together in our busy season.

Doesn’t look like square is interested in adding this feature or any features beyond what the most basic stores would need. Look into the Shopventory add on which adds bundling or the Lightspeed POS system which has way more features than square and can even integrate with square payment processing.

This is SO frustrating!!!  People/businesses have been requesting this very basic feature since at least 2016!!!  Really, for 7 years, you can't add this feature?  This is not a difficult ask. Does management read this or even care? Why hasn't it been addressed?

Shouldn't have to write to justify such a basic feature, but ok.

A seller can dramatically increase their sales and revenue by bundling items of higher perceived value to a consumer with items of lower perceived value. This is basic pricing strategy, and your platform should support it. 

This also enables us to move inventory that perhaps isn't selling as well as it could.

Our sales are actually down in two of our key categories (coins and badges) against LY because we don't have bundles. 

Agreed with SprigandStem that it's silly we're having to justify a feature this basic.

This option has already been test and made put out for public use.  You can only do a bundle from your dashboard not the Reg.   Now I not sure if its all versions or certin ones. But mine has it.  Retail ver.

@durdendesign - I tried out the bundle but it didn't remove inventory properly, especially if used in conjunction with items with multiple options like apparel sizes. It feels very beta (alpha?) at this point. 

Register is pretty easy to manipulate with coupons. I will give them credit that part is built out well (except the inability to do a discount PLUS free shipping).

I agree! I recently submitted a request for inventory to be pulled from linked items; I think this would be similarily helpful for items that are sold as a bundle.
