Bills Screen - Sort Order Issue

I am using the latest version of the square register. I am trying to sort this issue that is impacting the staff and customers.

 

In Bills screen, it is displaying all bills from oldest to newest order.

 

Whenever add a new bill it goes to bottom. Staff have to scroll through to bottom and then find the bills.

I have tried the sort option on top (time since last opened) selected, but it does not change the order.

 

Anyone else having this issue?

Thanks for raising this. While I've not heard of any current issues of this nature, if the sorting function doesn't appear to be working as intended, your best bet is to get in touch with our support team, ask to speak to a Square for Restaurants specialist and see if they're able to replicate the issue.

 

On the face of it this sounds like it might be a bug, which a support team member will be able to file with our engineering team if they're not able to figure out a solution. You can call our support team on 1800 760 137. Lines are open Mon-Fri, 9am-5pm Melbourne time.

I am in contact with your support team and he is in touch with your tech team regarding this matter. I have posted here with the hope that someone else would have experienced the same. It is causing a major issue because staff having to scroll through 100s of old bills to get to the bottom of the list. I've been using square for 4 days, so currently it is only 4 days of bills we have to scroll through, imagine after 10 days. I am sure this can not be the case, because this would have been highlighted by now by another user. It is a major usability issue that impact the staff and customer service. I think there is something I am missing with the configuration or process. I hope this is not a bug.

Update to this.

 

The sort issue I have mentioned is most likely a bug.

 

The main issue of displaying 100s of bills is due to staff entering uber eats and delivery app orders in Square Register in order to flow through them to Kitchen via KDS.

 

What we missed is the Payment step, because, the payment was going to the delivery app straight, so all square custom bills remained as unpaid. I have gone through and marked them as paid by using other payment types option in Payment.

Thanks for reporting back in @kwiz117!

 

It sounds like you might have been using the bills feature in a way we hadn't anticipated here! Either taking a payment for a bill or marking it as paid will prevent bills from pilling up indefinitely, so moving forward it sounds like you will hopefully not see the same issues with long lists of bills!
