Hi Everyone.
I am hoping someone can help me.
Everything on Square appears to be retail orientated, so we are struggling to get an answer for our solution required.
We are a service business. We do clothing alterations. A customer comes in with an item of clothing and we provide a price for the work. We create a ticket which we pin to the item.
We also have the scenario where we may have a customer bringing in multiple items.
One a staff member gets to the item, they check the description, do the work, hang it up on the completed rail and send a text to the customer advising them it is finished.
What we need is to print a barcode for each job on the ticket. This will allow the staff member to scan the barcode at the commencement of the work (for each individual item) and scan it when finished.
This will give us two bits of important information:
1. How long the staff member took to complete the work
2. Telling us the item/s have been completed.
Does anyone know if this is possible.
I don't think Square has that particular ability. The only way I think you can track that is to use the customer directory within Square which has a notes and files feature. Within that feature you can keep track of what work is being done and who is working on what. I would use invoices to detail the work to your customers- and the invoice would be attached to the customer file as well.
