I started using Square a few months ago and have noticed that things change or updates are rolled out and I figure it out the hard way (e.g. trying to enter items, update stock and finding that I can't). For example, apparently now items have to be "Visible" when entered in the Online side for them to sync with the Square side. Any item created as hidden or unavailable, won't sync anymore. Even though that wasn't the case last week. Does Square announce these updates anywhere? Is this normal?

When it comes to feature updates, there are a couple of different avenues you will be notified - via email, Community Product Updates, or in-app notifications.

Can I be added to the email list? I have not received any notification of updates via email. Also, is there a link the Community Updayes you mentioned? Thanks!
The best way would be to go to you Dashboard > Account & Settings > Email Notifications. This is where you would be able to opt in for those product update emails.
For the Community Posts - they will be under the Product Updates on the main page
