A friend of mine wants me to set up a Square Shop for her.

A friend of mine would like me to set up a Square shop for her. She wants to post links to other businesses to refer their items to her customers, too. The customer will then click on the other business link and purchase directly from that business. Can I place the links to other businesses on her Square shop as I create it?

Hello @Carol1st !

You most definitely can. When you create the button elements, you can choose where clicking on the button will take the customer. Use the "External Link" option to link to other sites.

For an example, check out my Find Us page from my website. I participate in multiple farmers markets throughout my region so I link to the various market pages with every button.

Now, if your friend is angling for commissions it may be a little different. You'll need to have the other businesses create affiliate links for her and then use those as the links on the buttons.

Hope this helps!

Happy 4th to you too @Carol1st !

For those who want to pay a monthly fee to be hosted on the site, I’d recommend working with recurring invoices. As for how much to charge, that’s going to be something you’ll have to test. It’ll probably have to be based off of website volume, click through rates, and the like.

For affiliate programs, you or the sites clients will have to look at a third party addon to Square. You can find them in the App Marketplace section of the Dashboard. I’m using Goaffpro for my affiliates. It links directly to your Square account.

Ryan, Your help is so appreciated, THANK YOU SO MUCH!

My husband and I went from WordPress to Wix because WordPress was giving us so many challenges.

Wix has not been without challenges and it's costly.

We saw a different Square website recently that wasn't very welcoming so we never even considered using it other than to take payments at various events. Now that we've seen your website and how smoothly it navigates, we're considering moving over to Square, too. This is my current website https://www.thebomparties.com/ and our business email to continue [email protected]

This will definitely help my friend as I set up a website for her. We just need to figure out how she can also bring in a fee to include the other vendors on her site.

Hi Ryan, I spoke with my friend and she loves your site, too. She loves the idea of adding others on her sire for people to enjoy and support. Can you lead me to more info as to how she can bring in funds for hosting them on her site? We were thinking of charging a flat monthly fee or an annual fee for her to include them and to promote them on her site. Though, I'm not sure what that fee would be or if people would be willing to pay that. You also mentioned affiliates. Can you explain more about how that would work? Thank you so much. Have a fantastic 4th!!
