switching from years with PayPal

I'm a tour operator and have been taking deposits and final payments for years using the PayPal Buy Now button embedded on my site. I want to move to Square and have just set up an account. All I need is a simple link on my site people can click on to enter credit card details - much the way it works with PayPal. But after looking at all of the information on the Square website I still can't see how I can create that link.

Hello @nyartist and thanks for your question...and Welcome to Square! We're so glad you joined us. Square is very easy to use, and has a lot of features, but you can use as little or as many as you need to or want to. I've used Square for almost 5 years now and I have grown with it as my business has grown. Just something to keep in mind.

As far as a checkout link, if you already have a Square account, sign into your Dashboard. on the left side if you scroll down, you should see an option that says "Online Checkout". This option will allow you to add a simple checkout link. Here is a link to help you get started. I hope this helps answer your question.

Remember if you need any more help with Square, check back into the Seller Community. You'll find a lot of resources here and you'll be able to connect with other sellers.

Hi Charlie

I went through that whole procedure because what I really wanted was to embed a link on my site. I tried to create a Buy button to embed that button on my website. I picked 'Collect a Payment' and it wants me to add an amount. But  I want to have it blank where people have to enter the amount that I invoice them. I could just email an invoice to people and I tried that and it worked really well. But I need something more elegant like a link on my website where they can add in the amount that I invoice them.
