"Add to Cart" Not working

No browsers are working with our online store.  Customers can't purchase because the Add to Cart button will not work on ANY browser.  nothing is helping - Troubleshooting is worthless.  Can't find a way to contact Square. Does anyone know how to do this?

That's interesting that you're seeing this issue. Is it with every item or just one specific one?

 

A couple of things could be the culprit if it's one specific item:

-If you have options/variations on the item, make sure they are available in your location via the main (not online) dashboard. If you are trying to sell an item with a variation not enabled in that location, I've seen some wonky results.

-Does your item have mandatory modifiers? If it does, you can't add the item to the cart until a modifier is selected. Mandatory modifiers have a red asterisk on them when you view your item on the customer side of the online store.

 

If it's the whole store, that sounds like a configuration issue. Make sure your store is accepting orders and that your hours of operation are set.

 

If those ideas don't help, please post a link to your website here. We may be able to see something from the customer side that's tripping things up.

I am having similar issues.  You click on the button and thats it.  No cart.  No wonder I haven't received any notices after people said they visited here.

Hello @VIR2OC ! Thanks for giving us your website address.

 

I've checked your site, and I can confirm I see "There was an error, please try again" whenever I try to add an item to the cart.

 

The first thing I would check is your Item Types. To see these, open up the item editor in the dashboard. If anything is set for Food and Beverage it may throw this error with the Shop All template you're using on the site. Unfortunately, the only way to change that is to delete the item and redo it.

 

I would also check your fulfillment settings at Dashboard -> Account & Settings -> Fulfillment. Make sure your hours are correct along with any other settings you want to configure. If you're offering shipping, you'll then need to check Dashboard -> Online -> Fulfillment -> Shipping for configurations. After you've verified the settings, make sure all your items' fulfillment matches your settings. You can do this in bulk at Dashboard -> Items, select the items you want shown on the website, click the Actions button in the lower right, then Update Fulfillment.

 

Hopefully these tricks will get your site up and running. If they don't, there may be a deeper issue than we can handle in a public forum. I'd recommend contacting support for further assistance since they can look at the back end of your site.

I'm having the same issue. Tried using different browsers, but no change. Tried contacting Customer Support thru chat but received no help there. Have read same problem in many different discussions but no resolutions - Except to tell me to upgrade. I just had a grand opening for my new business and I'm losing customers!! What did I pay for with my domain??

You should see the Add to Cart option if you navigate the Square Online dashboard, then click Settings > Checkout > Advanced Settings.
