discount not working

Can someone please help us with this we have been getting frustrated for hours now! our discount is not working at point of sale, we have tried everything logging on and off again and changing from pound to percentage we have checked locations everything and nothing at all is working??

Hi @littlewaxlounge, I'm really sorry that the discounts are not working!

 

So that I can have a further look into this, would you mind sharing a bit more information about how the discount is configure? Are these automatic discount with a set rule or are these manual discounts? When you are in your Point of Sale app, are you able to search for the discount within the Item Library?

Hi thanks for replying! It is automatic discount buy any 5 items for £10 so the discount takes .50pence off each item once 5 hits the bag. We have tried everything to get this working we don’t really know what else to do.

Thanks for letting me know @littlewaxlounge. It might be something I will need to pass to another team for further investigation. Just to confirm, is the discount only applied to specific items or does it apply to all items, and is the price for the individual item greater than 50p?

 

If possible, would you mind sending me a screenshot of how the discount is not applying within the Point of Sale app?

The discount applies to all items. So when you buy any 5 items it should take .50p off each item but it just isn’t doing it. So in these screenshots there is 5 items. So it should have taken .50p off each item to bring it down to £10 but it isn’t applying at all and staying at £12.50.

Thanks for sharing that @littlewaxlounge, I think I got the issue confused! At the moment, discounts setup on your Dashboard will only work when items are are added within the Square Point of Sale app. This is because discounts and coupons do not sync between Square app and the Square Online site.

 

In this case, to offer discount, you can create a coupon code for the customers and set it up so it will either applied to a specific item or if the order is certain amount. Alternatively, you can create a separate bundle item with the discounted price and have the different items in a modifier list that customer can choose from.
