I find the application to be very slow and unresponsive at times. It often lags. Disappointing when I'm trying to update stock and add new items.

I suggest starting out with the troubleshooting steps listed here. Yes - the troubleshooting steps are for the Point of Sale app, but you can use these same steps for the Dashboard app or any app in general.
